Winter and Seasonal Shutdown Planning for Water Treatment Equipment
Describe the building conditions
Tell the service provider whether the home stays heated, how long it will be vacant and which supplies are shut off. Treatment tanks, filters, tubing and RO storage can require different procedures. Do not assume one action prepares the complete system.
Follow model-specific procedures
Ask for instructions covering isolation, draining or other approved preparation. Bypassing equipment can leave water inside it. Avoid an improvised chemical or generic plumbing step that is not approved for the treatment equipment.
Include connected components
List drinking-water filters, RO equipment, refrigerators and any other treated-water branch. Confirm the scope of the seasonal visit and whether connected plumbing needs separate attention. Record the final valve positions and who will handle restart.
Plan the return to service
Ask about the manufacturer restart, flushing or sanitation requirements and the checks before normal use. Leaks, damaged components or changed water conditions should be assessed rather than hidden by resetting the controller.
Arrange the correct service
Review winterization, maintenance and RO service. Call (323) 916-2854 with the equipment details and location.
